How do I request the damage history of a car?
You can check the vehicle’s claims history via MijnVWE or Occasion Manager, using the vehicle’s registration number or VIN.
Can VWE also detect hidden damage?
Yes. When an insurer declares a car a technical or economic write-off, it usually goes to the salvage trade. Thanks to partnerships with companies in the salvage sector, VWE is also able to track down these hidden damages, including on imported cars that are being registered with Dutch number plates.

WOK statusWOK stands for “Waiting for Inspection” (Wachten Op Keuren) and is assigned to a vehicle by the RDW after, for example, a damage report, theft or import. A (former) WOK status may indicate a previous incident with the vehicle.
Change of BPMWhen the BPM (tax on passenger cars and motorcycles) of a car is adjusted, this can be a sign that the value of the vehicle has been reassessed, for example after damage has been identified.
