How is it determined whether a car has a damage history?
There are several indicators that may suggest a car has a history of damage. VWE examines factors including:
Insurance claimsReported insurance claims provide direct insight into previous claims, including details such as the cause, date and amount of the damage.
WOK statusWOK stands for “Waiting for Inspection” (Wachten Op Keuren) and is assigned to a vehicle by the RDW after, for example, a damage report, theft or import. A (former) WOK status may indicate a previous incident with the vehicle.
Change of BPMWhen the BPM (tax on passenger cars and motorcycles) of a car is adjusted, this can be a sign that the value of the vehicle has been reassessed, for example after damage has been identified.
