How to start in MijnVWE
In My VWE, you start with a vehicle and then choose the action (such as Advertise). This can be done in 3 ways:
- From a vehicle: key in a registration number or chassis number in the bar at the top of the ‘vehicles’ page.
- From the stock-in-trade: on the ‘vehicles’ page, click the ‘stock’ button. Here you can click on a vehicle and take actions on it, e.g. MOT approval.
- From the advertised stock: on the ‘vehicles’ page, click on the ‘ad management’ button. From there, you can edit or delete existing ads, as well as create new ones.

What is a vehicle file?
The vehicle file is the heart of My VWE. This is where you find all the data on a vehicle. From all technical data to documents collected with transactions on the vehicle. Moreover, from here you can undertake all actions with the vehicle, such as ORV (exoneration), APK registration and insurance.
Why do I always have to look up a vehicle first while looking for a service?
How do I put a vehicle in my trading stock?
First, key in the registration number in the search bar at the top of the ‘vehicles’ page. This will take you to the vehicle file, where you can choose ‘Free goods (ORV)’ under the ‘purchase’ heading. Here you can enter the relevant vehicle in the company stock.
How can I do a transaction (e.g. EAD Customs Document or VKR) with a vehicle that does not (yet) have a Dutch registration number?
On the “Vehicles” page, you can use the white search bar to search for a vehicle. This can be done via a registration number, but also via a chassis number. Should the vehicle not be found, you can create a vehicle file manually, using the “Create a file manually” or “Add vehicle manually” button. Once the vehicle file is created, you can immediately do transactions with that vehicle.
When creating the vehicle file, enter as much information about the vehicle as possible to build a complete file. If the vehicle is later registered, we link the chassis number to that registration number and the vehicle file becomes complete.
How can I view my transactions?
Where can I find the screens of the ‘ORV between companies’ service?
Where can I find documents such as the Indemnity Certificate?
All documents associated with a vehicle can be found in the Vehicle File. Search for the vehicle using the search box in the Vehicle Dashboard or in the Stock list. If you are looking for a document associated with a particular transaction, you can look up that transaction in the Transaction overview and retrieve the document from there.

Where can I find my EAD (customs document) transactions?
EAD transactions can be found in the Transaction Overview under “My Business”.

I want to sign up as a customer. How do I do that?
This can be done via this page. In the application form, you can specify exactly which services you want to use.
I get the error message ‘no or invalid certificate offered’ or ‘The page requires a client certificate’ when logging in to MijnVWE. What should I do?
You do not have an RDW certificate installed on the device you are using. Or you may be using a revoked or expired RDW certificate. Only the last RDW certificate issued is valid. Some things you can try:
- Install the certificate on the device you want to use
- Check whether the certificate is still valid. A certificate is valid for a maximum of 2 years. The RDW sends a new certificate several weeks in advance.
- Have you had an RDW/CVK number change? Take Contact on with the KCC.
Before trying to log in to My VWE again, it is STRONGLY recommended that you close ALL your browser screens first and then try again.
Need help with certificate issues? Use the manual or take Contact on with the KCC.
I want to cancel my acount with VWE. Where can I do this?

How to calculate VAT when a business owner resells a used motor vehicle?
When selling both a new and used motor vehicle, BPM is considered a continuous item for VAT purposes. VAT is therefore never charged on the BPM. Therefore, to determine the amount of VAT to be charged on the sale of a used motor vehicle by an entrepreneur, the residual BPM (residual BPM) must be lifted from the sale price.
This residual BPM is calculated by deducting from the originally paid BPM the depreciation percentage BPM belonging to the used motor vehicle from the depreciation table (up to a maximum of 90%). The remaining part of the BPM may be deducted from the allowance to calculate the VAT due. If the residual BPM is higher than the selling price of the used motor vehicle, then no VAT will take place.
How much residual BPM is there on this vehicle?
Can an export transaction be undone?
Yes, an export transaction can be reversed within two weeks or six weeks. Depending on what kind of export transaction it was. Take Contact on with the KCC.
How can I sell a vehicle to a foreign buyer without BPM?
There are several criteria for selling without BPM:
- The vehicle must be exported to a country within the EEA (EU, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein);
- The vehicle must have been imported into the Netherlands on or after 16 October 2006 (either new or used is accepted);
- BPM must have been paid on the vehicle.
Take Contact on with the KCC.
How can VWE help me list the numbers of MOTs that have been turned?
We often lack the time to list the numbers of MOTs after a busy day. VWE helps with this! When you sign off the MOT via VWE, we include the MOT Statistics. You then receive a monthly overview in table and graph form of the number of MOTs per inspector. Both on the main lines (a monthly overview of the current and previous year) and at a detailed level (rejection percentage per inspector), you keep an overview for managing workshop performance.
You can find these statistics on My VWE under the Statistics dashboard.
When can I reach Autotrust if I have specific questions about a policy or product?
Autotrust can be reached Monday to Friday from 08:30 - 17:00. You can contact them by phone: 0592-340018 or by e-mail: info@autotrust.nl
Are there additional charges for taking out a policy for an import vehicle?
No, there are no additional charges. However, the vehicle must have a full and correct service history. The odometer reading must also be correct. A provisional premium calculation can be made based on the Dutch registration number of a similar vehicle of the same age.
Does an excess period apply?
Yes, for the first 15 days after the warranty takes effect, the dealership is responsible for the vehicle itself and no claim can be made to Autotrust.
When is a My Car Coach inspection mandatory?
Any vehicle covered by the Luxury & Performance Guarantee must be inspected by My Car Coach beforehand. In addition, there are some brands that are ticked by Autotrust as ‘high-risk’ and therefore also require a pre-inspection. The most common vehicles covered by this are BMW`s with an N20B20 engine. If you have any doubts or questions, contact Autotrust via telephone number 0592-340018 or via info@autotrust.nl
What does the notification look like with a pre-mandatory inspection?
nif a pre-inspection is mandatory, you will see the screen and message below:

Via the license plate search box on this page you can find out the euro class of a vehicle.
Where can I go to get a vehicle exported?
What do I need for an export registration with the RDW via VWE?
- The complete most recent registration certificate. From 1 January 2014, every time there is an owner change, the paper registration certificate will be replaced by a registration card. Therefore, the following distinction exists:
- If a Registration Card was not previously applied for the vehicle, bring the following paper registration documents: Part II (1B Registration Certificate) and Copy Part III/Transcription Certificate/Part II).
- If a Registration Card has been applied for, take this Registration Card along with the corresponding registration code.
- The corresponding number plate(s)
- Exact vehicle odometer reading
- Proof of identity (original and valid):
- International: identity card or passport
- National: driving licence, identity card or passport
- Please note that a residence permit will not be accepted
I want to export my vehicle outside the EU and need an EAD customs document. What do I need to bring for this?
In that case, bring the following items to one of the Service Points: the vehicle, the invoice at the foreign address outside the EU, the vehicle registration card/complete vehicle registration certificate and a valid ID.
If you go to a service point, the advice is to check with them first what they need from you.
How long is an export license plate valid?
Can an invoice declaration EUR.1 be issued for my vehicle?
We can issue an invoice declaration for various vehicles. This is only possible if the vehicle is exported via VWE and if the origin of the vehicle can be proved with a supplier's declaration. For a caravan, VWE cannot issue an invoice declaration EUR.1. For this, you can contact the Chamber of Commerce. Finally, it is important to note that we are also obliged to issue an EAD Customs document if the vehicle has an invoice value of over €6,000.
Can I extend my export licence plate (longer than two weeks)?
No, this is not possible. After the expiry date, the vehicle cannot be used on public roads.
How do I order an environmental sticker?
You can easily order the environment sticker via this page or collect from one of the Service points. When ordering via the website, you can pay securely and reliably via iDEAL | Wero, after which you will receive a payment confirmation with an order number. For orders placed and paid for on weekdays before 5.00 PM, the environmental sticker will be dispatched the same day via PostNL.
I can't pay via iDEAL | Wero, is there another option?
In that case, you can also collect the environmental sticker from one of the Service points and pay there.
If I order an environmental sticker, when will I receive it?
I get multiple order numbers but the payment failed. What should I do now?
When do I need an environmental sticker?
The environmental sticker (umweltplakette) is required to drive a car in the environmental zones of German cities. Mopeds, mopeds, motorbikes, scooters, three-wheeled vehicles, agricultural tractors, mobile machinery and equipment, work traffic and emergency vehicles do not need an environmental sticker. In addition, vintage cars - registered before 1 January 1978 and fitted with Dutch historical blue number plates - also do not need an environment sticker. In that case, however, a copy of the Dutch registration certificate or the FIVA Identity Card must be placed clearly visible behind the windscreen.
What is the reason for environmental zones?
Cities can close areas with particularly high particulate matter concentrations to vehicles with high particulate emissions. These environmental zones are marked with a special road sign. The establishment of environmental zones is based on an EU directive which stipulates that a limit value for particulate matter (50 micrograms per cubic metre of air) may not be exceeded on more than 35 calendar days. Germany has transposed this directive into national law with the so-called “Kennzeichnungsverordnung”.
Why do I get a green environment sticker when I have a Euro class 5, 6 or an electric car?
Newer cars often have high environmental ratings such as Euro 5 and Euro 6. For these too, you will receive a green sticker with 4 on it. This is currently the highest class associated with the environmental sticker. There are currently no legal regulations in Germany on which vehicles will receive a Blue Sticker ( light blue / dark blue ).
In which cities do you need an environmental sticker?
Retrieved from this page you will find an overview of all cities with an environmental zone. Zones are added periodically and those already set up as environmental zones are also becoming stricter in allowing lower emission class vehicles (higher emissions). So keep an eye on this overview.
Are there exceptions in issuance by municipality?
Nationwide, exemptions exist for a range of vehicles, such as mopeds, motorbikes, ambulances and tractors. Oldtimers with a so-called “H” registration number also do not have to be stickered. In addition, there are numerous municipal exemptions for certain distressing cases, for which, however, there are very different solutions from one city to another. If in doubt, contact the relevant municipality.
Do I need an environmental sticker on German motorways?
Is the environment sticker valid throughout Germany?
Does the environmental sticker have a validity period?
Can you be fined if you drive in an environmental zone without an environmental sticker?
Is exemption possible in case of disability?
Cars that have a European Disabled Parking Card clearly visible behind the windscreen are exempt from the Environmental Sticker.
I have a broken window. Can I get a new environmental sticker?
The environment sticker can only be attached to a window once due to the special adhesive layer. So for a replacement window, you need to purchase a new Environment Sticker. You can order it via this page. This may be covered by the insurance company. Check with your insurer about this.
Can I return the environment sticker if I turn out not to need it?
The environmental sticker is custom-made for your vehicle. Therefore, once the environmental sticker is printed (with your registration number), we cannot reverse the order or return the amount paid.
Which vehicles are exempt from the environment sticker?
The vehicles below are exempt from the environmental sticker:
- Mopeds, mopeds, motorbikes, scooters and three-wheeled vehicles.
- Agricultural tractors.
- Mobile machinery and equipment.
- Work traffic.
- Vehicles used by emergency services.
- Motor vehicles for the benefit of people with disabilities, where the vehicles must be registered as such. If you hold a European Disabled Parking Card, you are exempt from the environmental badge. This disabled parking card must be clearly visible behind your windscreen as soon as your vehicle is parked in a restricted zone. If you are checked for the presence of the environmental sticker within the Umwelt zone, the European Disabled Parking Card is your proof of your permanent exemption.
- Oldtimers with historical registration plates registered as such in Germany (the vehicle must be at least 30 years old and bear the “H” badge or the red “07” badge) or oldtimers registered in other EU countries meeting corresponding conditions have a permanent exemption from the environmental sticker. Therefore, if your vintage car is registered in the Netherlands, has a date of first admission before 1 January 1978, and the vehicle has Dutch historical registration plates (the blue plates), you do not need an environment sticker. However, to enter an Umwelt zone, you still need a FIVA Identity Card. You can apply for this in the Netherlands at the FEHAC. Further information on this Identity Card can be found at: www.fehac.nl/fiva-id-cards. If you park your vintage car within the Umwelt zone, you must place a copy of your Dutch registration certificate or the said Identity Card clearly visible.
