Green Card – 14-day export insurance
Exporting a car abroad? Order your 14-day export insurance quickly and easily from VWE. Orders placed on working days before 4 PM will be dispatched the same day!
What is a Green Card?
The Green Card is an international insurance certificate with 14 days of valid third-party liability cover, offered in collaboration with insurer a.s.r.
An international motor insurance certificate serves as proof that your vehicle is insured abroad.
Why a Green Card?
Vehicles taken abroad while driven must have third-party liability insurance. As Dutch insurance ceases upon export registration, it is essential to take out temporary insurance, easily done online at VWE.
How long is the Green Card valid for?
When exporting a vehicle, 14 days of third-party liability cover are provided as standard via the Green Card. Registration for export is required for temporary third-party liability cover.
Is my car eligible for a Green Card?
To be eligible for a temporary Green Card, the vehicle must be registered for export. Only then can we provide temporary third-party liability insurance. To apply for the insurance, we need your personal details as well as vehicle details, such as the Dutch registration number and the chassis number.
