‘License Plate Lookup’ and ‘iKenteken’ become ‘Finnik Kenteken’ together’

The two largest number plate apps in the Netherlands, Kenteken Opzoeken and iKenteken, are now merging into one app: the Finnik Kenteken app. This updated version offers new features in addition to the information from the existing apps. With the app, people looking for a (different) car or wanting to know more about their own car have a mobile information source at hand anytime, anywhere. When does the MOT expire? How many times has it been viewed by others? Technical details? Thanks to the app, this can all be seen at a glance. “This means that even more valuable information is available, putting everyone on firmer ground when buying or selling a (second-hand) car. Even as a car novice, you are much better prepared for a car purchase with the available knowledge about a car,” according to Thomas Edens, CEO of Finnik.

Popularity of spotting grows in 2016 with 7 million

Every time a vehicle report is requested for a registration number, that's a "spot". The more often a car is "spotted", the more desirable the car is to car buyers. The popularity of "spotting" cars is clearly demonstrated by the 33 million vehicle reports requested in 2015. Finnik expects to achieve around 40 million "spots" in 2016, with growth of 7 million.

Feedback from early adopters

Users who have tested the app describe it as ‘very user-friendly’, ‘fast’, ‘clear’, ‘nice fun facts’ and ‘with extensive information about the car’. Some users had to get used to the new design. Following this feedback, another update was made to accommodate users in this regard. The app is available for both Android as iOS
